Spice has the best French toast ever. Seriously everyone is talking about it which means you will be forever left out until you stop into Spice and taste it's deliciousness. This place reminds me of the Cave of Wonders from Aladdin. It's hard to find and you have to past the test of highland ave traffic to get into the parking lot. (it's adjacent to the best western hotel). Their egg scrambles are nice, the pizza is good and their sandwiches are scrumptious. Also the service is really great. Brandon the owner is usually there and is very nice and helpful to his guests. If you have any requests or concerns he's more than happy to oblige. I haven't really been served by any of the other waiters so I can't comment on their performance. All in all if I could sum up spice i'd say it's like a chili pepper: small but packed with flavor. :)
We found Spice on Yelp and the food looked REALLY good! After a play at the Pantages Theatre, we went for dinner. It is located in the Best Western on Highland and was the most pleasant surprise I have ever experienced (well, one of them)! I had the Ribeye, which was tender and perfectly cooked! The Demi-glacé was brilliant! My friend had the Chicken Piccata, which I tasted, and it was "to die for"! We both started with a salad which had a Balsamic dressing made by the Chef. It was fantastic! This guy is a "food magician"! You will not be disappointed! Go as soon as you can!
Come to Spice for tasty coffee and 5-star service. After a night in Hollywood, I woke up a few hours before my friends. I was looking for a coffee shop to enjoy a warm cup of savory caffeine and check the internet. I stumbled upon this little gem. I ended up sitting here for a few hours, drinking countless cups of coffee and enjoying a delicious breakfast. Later my friends joined me, and they raved about it, too. Spice describes itself as serving "Fine International Cuisine", but it seems more like the perfect little coffee shop/breakfast place to me. Spice is modern, charming and clean. But the reason to come here is the service. The guys who work here are awesome--especially Cesar Barrios. He really took care of us in a friendly and professional manner. You won't go wrong if you start your morning with Spice. It's located in the Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn.
Love this little hidden spot. Conveniently placed on highland near the freeway. Great healthy choices. Bomb omelets, pasta, french toast, cappuccino. I have breakfast here often.
it's a cute small restaurant, but well worth the drive out from where I was staying in SoCal. I heard a lot about the famous FRENCH TOAST (best it's topped with my favorite fruit, strawberries) along with caramel and syrup....and I would have to say that I thanked the owner's son for being alive because I wouldn't have tried the best french toast I've had in my life without his recommendations. No joke, you have to try it! Wish they could send me some out here in NorCal. Ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza and it was awweeeesome! Also, had a bite of the chicken fettucine alfredo. WOW. Delicious. 5 stars because they had great customer service but also the food is amazing. I'll come back and try more on the menu.....and SO looking forward to it.
Spice is a great place to eat & it'd probably get more respect if it wasn't located in the Best Western, because we might not have tried it or known about it if we hadn't stayed in the hotel. However, I suggest everyone who visits the area to try it, because it's one of the main reasons we stay at the Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn. Anyway, the food is delicious and all the staff is very cool. Cesar, the head chef, main host, and manager is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. The atmosphere is friendly & welcoming. It's fun to chill at the counter, chow down and watch the Lakers when it's time to relax after a long day on the town. For breakfast, I recommend the French toast & the breakfast burrito which is light yet filling enough for most of the day. The Mexican omelet is a feast. For dinner, I enjoy the huge burger and plentiful fries. I could go on and praise other items on the menu, but last & not least, Spice has the BEST cappuccino in Hollywood!
